We had our first shoot without lecturer assistance for an assignment yesterday. It was going to be an advert of the Nokia 5610 Xpress Music.

Things didnt go as smoothly as planned, a bunch of us including the director were abit late, and we didnt get any lights mostly because we were going to shoot outdoors and we didnt have long enough extension cables.

With a tight shooting schedule of 2 hours including time to set up and go over the plan, it kinda felt like it was going to be a disaster. And it was bloody hot when we started out to make matters less than pleasent.

But hey, things didnt go too bad, we went abit over our shooting time but at least we got things done and we had alot of fun.

Now all thats left is the lil bits like making a proper storyboard, a proposal, and the editing which I’ll be doing.

My house seems to be attracting wild life.

A few days ago a swarm of bees decided to make camp in my bathroom, but we got rid of them before they could build a hive.

Also on that day I noticed a nest like structure outside my window, didnt really know what it was so I left it alone.

imagine my suprise when i saw it really was a bloody nest today

there’s even a bloody egg in the nest (well duh)

The bird is a Zebra Dove, or more commonly known in Malaysia as the Burung Merbok. Apparently these birds have very nice voices, we’ll see how that goes.

I’ll be keeping watch on the bird and maybe feed it so it’ll stay and hopefully the egg will hatch. Will also be keeping a daily photo log of the bird :)

December 07 was an interesting month. In the final 2 weeks of 2007 I went to 2 different states, went for 2 Akad Nikahs, the first one having 2 different Akad Nikahs going on side by side by the same kadi at the same time, 3 wedding kenduris, and 2 Cukur Jambuls. I can buy toto now XD

The first wedding was in Ipoh, my mother’s sister’s daughter’s wedding. A day before her wedding we had a Cukur Jambul for my niece. This was the first time I got to listen to Marhaban and the first time I saw the swing for the baby when Marhaban was sung.

The next wedding was back in Penang, for my mother’s cousin’s son’s wedding. I liked this one better, had a wonderful time with my 2nd cousins who I’m closer to than my cousins on my mom’s side. Got to eat this awesome Char Kuey Teow called Sunny Char Kuey Teow or something ( Its wet compared to normal Char Kuey Teow, and it uses a home made recipe kicap, and it was the best Char Kuey Teow I’ve ever had ), got to spend sometime by the seaside,

helped make the best pelamin I’ve ever seen,

And then I got to watch my nephew get his head shaved bald XD

Good times.

Oh and I used the photos I took during these past 2 weeks and some previous photos I had, I opened up a section called Adat Melayu in the Gallery and also added a Family subsection in the People section. Enjoy.
