Sunday, March 9th, 2008Wani Ardy is a “Senikatawati” whatever the hell that means. She’s a scriptwriter working on some shows for Astro or something I think, on the side she’s recording some songs for God know’s what purpose. Her songs so far focus on acoustic guitar tracks, but some are mixed to include other instruments are quite well done with impressive melodies, some examples are “Letter to Saviour”, “Orang Kecil”, oh screw it, all of it was pretty cool to listen to. Writing while not finished listening to the track list is quite a bad idea :P
Anyway check out her songs, its worth the time. Here’s hoping for more great songs.

Thursday, March 6th, 2008It was a classic Knight in Shining Armour story. Boy wins girl, girl gets kidnapped, boy leads rag tag team to rescue girl.
Except this movie was far from Medieval. It was pre-historic.
The story begin possibly somewhere in Europe, where the Hero’s tribe is facing some difficult times. A seeress predicts the coming of great doom on their people, and sure enough many years later, it happens. A band of slavers come and take many men from the tribe as slaves, and also the Woman of our Hero. So our Hero forms a small party and goes off in chase, taking him to Africa and a fictional version of Egypt.
The actors in the movie are relatively unknown to me, but they held their roles quite well and weren’t corny or cheesy and etc.
The movie was also quite short, only an around 1 hour 30 minutes. Story pace was good, though some characters were introduced too late to properly be established by more than a simple narration. There wasn’t enough fighting too, and the fighting scenes, though cool, were somewhat sub par.
It was a good movie anyway, somewhere around 3 stars :)
1000 Tahun (Mahu Hidup)
Wednesday, February 20th, 20081000 Tahun (Mahu Hidup) is the first single from the soon to be released Butterfingers album Kembali. This song is a looong way from the Grunge Rock these guys were playing back in their early days, and its a bit different then any song from Selamat Tinggal Dunia. Emmet doesn’t have the Omputeh cakap melayu accent, and the song is overall kind of alternative rock-ish. Not bad, catchy, can’t wait for the album :)
