First and foremost, sorry about the lack of updates. Not much to blog about. Wish I had a camera then I can show you the new house lol, but alas, that thing is as lost as The One Ring in a river lol.

Google launched it’s new browser Chrome last week, been playing with it soon after it came out lol. Spent so much time on it I forgot to do an assignment XD
Somethings I dont quite like about chrome though
- No blooody stop button, what the hell?
- No bloody built in rss reader (although Google Reader has been a very good alternative)
- Most of my external links from IM’s keep opening in Firefox.
- Buggy with some sites.

Besides this crap it’s all pretty fine and dandy. I love it. Just hope its not going to remain perpetually in beta.

Also installed some new plug-ins in wordpress, mostly only for my end though, screw you readers! XD
Will share for the benefit of other wordpress users :)

Wordpress Automatic upgrade Upgrades Wordpress for you from wordpress, no need to wait for fantastico to update or whatever. Kinda like the plug-in updates

jQuery Lightbox - Lightbox plugin because the previous plugin I had was malfunctioning and also other plugins I tried sucked balls. Needs a lil typing, but does the job and pretty much easier to use than the previous one.

Also did some changes to the gallery which now uses thickbox instead of lightbox, and I’ve added a recent comments list to the sidebar.

One plug-in I tried but decided not to use because it did more than what I needed was AJAXed Wordpress which basicly Ajax-es your entire blog, navigation, comments, all that stuff. Pretty cool, and worth a try :)

Today I cemented a well known thought of mine for good.

Conferences that have nothing to do with what you do or your interest are only good for two things.

Now you people know what I want for my birthday :D

While working on the gallery, I had a dilemma. All my photos are 3072×2304 pixels. Resizing them using photoshop wouldm take hoursss and I really didnt want to do such an inane task. Thus I used the most powerful tool on earth and searched for a tool that could resize a whole bunch of images in one go.

And lo! I found “Image Resizer” a tool from Microsoft’s PowerToys array of tools. With this baby I easily resized the 100 photos I wanted to upload for the Penang Hill Aviary album in a minute or two (time may vary depending on your computers processing power). It felt like something that was God sent!

But alas, this tool presented another problem. The copies it made were named “picturex(small)” and that was really a bother to work with when you would need to type in the file names for code or whatever… so again I used the most powerful tool on earth and I found this baby. Simply named “File Renamer”, thats exactly what it did, rename files by the load into organized file names.

So there you have it, two great tools to help you organize your computer and make your life easier if you’re uploading alot of photos :)
