Wani Ardy

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

Wani Ardy is a “Senikatawati” whatever the hell that means. She’s a scriptwriter working on some shows for Astro or something I think, on the side she’s recording some songs for God know’s what purpose. Her songs so far focus on acoustic guitar tracks, but some are mixed to include other instruments are quite well done with impressive melodies, some examples are “Letter to Saviour”, “Orang Kecil”, oh screw it, all of it was pretty cool to listen to. Writing while not finished listening to the track list is quite a bad idea :P

Anyway check out her songs, its worth the time. Here’s hoping for more great songs.

1000 Tahun (Mahu Hidup)

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

1000 Tahun (Mahu Hidup) is the first single from the soon to be released Butterfingers album Kembali. This song is a looong way from the Grunge Rock these guys were playing back in their early days, and its a bit different then any song from Selamat Tinggal Dunia. Emmet doesn’t have the Omputeh cakap melayu accent, and the song is overall kind of alternative rock-ish. Not bad, catchy, can’t wait for the album :)

Butterfingers challanges Malaysian music industry

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

Butterfingers, one of Malaysia’s renown rock bands, have announced that their new album, Kembali, will be released in July 2008.
Kembali will be the sequel to the band’s previous album Selamat Tinggal Dunia, and will be their 2nd Bahasa Malaysia album.

The big news however is that the album will be sold and distributed via the internet, without any major labels or outside help, just the band and their crew at RoyalButterfingers.

This is something probably unheard of in the Malaysian music scene, though I could be wrong. Let’s hope this will make the way for more changes and innovations in the local Music industry.

Guys.

We’re planning on releasing Kembali in Jul 08 ourselves. No major label. No distributor. No middleman. No assholes. Just “US”. The band. We’re back. Finally. And more alive than ever. Yes. We’re able to get music to you, the ppl who deserve it, for less money. Who needs miserable retailers when you have the power of the internet.

That said. We’ll be distributing it ourselves via the internet. And we’re planning on selling the album at RM 15 a piece (excluding transport cost). How bout that!

When we’ve set up the online store, you can buy it there. We’ll let you know. The details. Soon to come.

What say you, RBF’ers?

Meantime, any queries or thoughts or concerns into “Kembali”, address them to emmett_here[at]yahoo.com.

Hell. If you’ve got the time, I’ve got the time.” - Emmet via RoyalButterfingers

Bye Bye Beautiful

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

This is the music video for the song “Bye Bye Beautiful” by Nightwish.
I just have this to say
OMG LOL~
The chick version of Emppu (the guitarist) is hot though XD
I wonder if any of them can actually play an instrument though
p/s - oh god, this reminds me of when Nirvana performed in lingerie XD

Anyway the song is about Tarja, and some people have speculated that the video’s theme is “The woman isn’t the whole band”, which makes reference to Tarja who, it is believed, thought she was the only important member within the band. But in truth Toumas said that the video of this song has no theme what-so-ever. Holopainen confirmed in a Finnish interview that the girls in this clip have absolutely nothing to do with the removal of Tarja Turunen from Nightwish. “It’s just pure self-irony and rock ‘n roll”, he says.
