4th Quarter New TV Seasons

Sunday, October 5th, 2008

The 4th quarter of 2008 has seen the beginning of some new seasons for US TV Shows, namely House, Numb3rs and Heroes, all of which ended the previous season quite early due to problems following the Writers Guild strike.

House was the first show to come out following the flopped 916

Following Amber’s death at the end of Season 4, Wilson resigns from the hospital and ends his friendship with House. House, in true House fashion, retorts by hiring a private investigator to spy on Wilson. Cuddy still hasn’t put out though, but will she put out for someone else instead of House?

The opening credits still don’t include the new team and still feature the old team despite Omar Eppes being the only regular old team member that has alot of screen time followed by Jesse Spencer.

Next up is Heroes, opening the season with a 3-hour special. But of course the first hour was just a clip-show with some interviews and stuff, but hey, two new episodes in a row is quite a start.

The new season picks up from the time Nathan got shot, revealing the true identity of the shooter who shot Nathan. Nathan survives, but at what cost? The season is also the beginning of a new chapter “Villains”, and as promised by the producers, there are some mean kick-ass villains on the loose.

But wait

Sylar is working for the Company?

Its going to be interesting to see how much more entangled the story gets, with Mohinder finding the true source of the genetic mutation in the “heroes” and gaining some powers himself. The story of Niki Sanders is also beginning to unfold into a deeper plot.

And finally we have the recently premiered season of Numb3rs

This season Sophina Brown joins the cast as junior agent Nikki Betancourt, filling in the gap left by Diane Farr. Charlie has lost his security clearance following the season 4 finale in which he sent dubious research information to Pakistan, and now can’t work for the FBI. So in turn, FBI seeks help from Larry and Amita. How will this go? Well, you just have to watch now dont you? ;)

Terminator : The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Monday, January 21st, 2008

It’s always bad to put a series in between two released movies and try to make it seem to connect the two movies when it clearly changes what happened between those two movies.

Terminator : The Sarah Connor Chronicles may not have suffered from that, but it was daaamn boring. I didn’t even finish watching the first episode. This series has a lot of weight to carry in making sure it doesn’t spoil the image of the the Terminator movies. Currently it really doesn’t seem to be holding up.

Sarah Connor, John Connor, and the two Terminators characters are like doorknobs, really plain characters. I’m not saying that the actors are bad but they don’t seem to be able to carry the weight of the characters. The storyline might be interesting, but the dialogue is blegh.

This series definitely not something I’ll be watching. But hope still lives for Terminator 4
